I just setup my websites to use the ECT version of ShipStation and now notice that the order times between my stores and ShipStation are about 7 hrs ahead.

I'm on Pacific Time and after 5pm my time ShipStation shows my imported orders for the next day.

I contacted SS and they were no help.

I double checked my settings in SS and YES... I am set for Pacific Time.

When I was using the MOD version of SS this was not a problem.

Thoughts?

Patrick

Hi Patrick
When you receive an order with the ECT cart the date and time of the order are set taking your server time and any time adjustment you have set into account, and you should see the correct time for new orders. When the order is then sent to ship station it is not changed at all however. In your ship station admin, in the Account -> Display Options you have the option to set your time zone there and it could be that that is wrong.

Hi Vince,

My ECT orders have the correct date and time.

My SS account is set to the same time zone.

I noticed in the ajaxservice.php file there are UTC time codes.

The difference between UTC and PDT (my current time) is 7 hrs.

At 5pm my time SS sets the imported orders for the next day which is 7 hrs ahead.

Here is an example:

I just had an order come through with a date code of:

07/20/2022 5:36pm PDT

I imported it into SS and it shows the order date of 07/21/2022 (7 hrs ahead)

An order just prior to that had a date code of:

07/20/2022 4:58pm PDT and SS shows it correctly at 07/20/2022

My ShipStation Time and Units are setup as follows:

(GMT-08:00) Pacific Standard Time (Pacific Time (US and Canada), Tijuana)

Could the UTC and GMT be the conflicting issue?

As GMT is a time zone and UTC is a time standard.

Actually, that's not really correct as all times / dates are converted to UTC.

So yes, this does look like it's the UTC offset that is going wrong, but we don't know if the details sent to SS are correct and SS is displaying them incorrectly or the details sent are incorrect.

This is just because adding 7 hours to 4:58 gets 11:58 so the date is still the one you expect, but the time is still probably wrong.
The latest versions of the vsadmin/ajaxservice.php file has more debug information so could you possibly update that file and then add this parameter to your includes.php file...
$debugxmlemails=TRUE;
The try syncing with shipstation and you should get an email with debug info. As I mentioned, all order dates should be in UTC so can you have a look and see if the info looks reasonable. If you need help deciphering the file please send it to my email (vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com)
