Hello. Updated today and can't figure out what went wrong but the site marradind.com is down. It looks like all the files made it - 78 files in vsadmin/inc / all look updated and 51 files in vsadmin/ all look updated.

I have a few old files in those folders:
vsadmin/inc/customppsend.asp (7/26/2012)
vsadmin/inc/customppreturn.asp (7/26/2012)
vsadmin/db_conn_open.asp (7/28/2012)

I did notice I have the includes.asp in both the httpdocs/ folder and the httpdocs/vsadmin/ folder and both are dated 2/9/2021.

I also realized I might be doing this backwards. I always ftp upload all the files and then run the updatestore.asp file last. The instructions say to run updatestore first. I've always done it the other way without issue. Have I been doing it wrong for years and getting away with it or does it matter?

Hi, I see there is a 500 error showing and the fastest resolution is to get to the real error as the "500" is just a generic error.
Your host should be able to tell you what the actual error is and it will show in the server logs as well.

It does not matter if you run the updatestore script before, or after uploading the files.

The includes.asp file should be in the vsadmin folder.

Try running the entire update again and don't forget to upload the new css and js files to their correct locations as well.

Post back the actual error if you are not able to resolve the issue.

Thanks,
David

Looks like it started with:
500 GET / |31|ASP_0126|Include_file_not_found HTTP/1.1

There are a bunch of others since then

The most recent is:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'
Object required: 'rs'
/vsadmin/inc/incfunctions.asp, line 111

I re-downloaded the update and sent all the files up again and ran updatestore.asp again but still the same

The original problem was vsadmin/inc/languagefile_fr.asp didn't update. That was fixed, but site still down. My host informed me my incfunctions.asp file is still showing 7.4.9 rather than 7.4.10. Could that cause the problem below?

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01a8'
Object required: 'rs'
/vsadmin/inc/incfunctions.asp, line 111

Hi Mark
All those errors point to the files not making it properly to the server. Do you want to send the site FTP login details to my email (vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com) and I'll take a look for you.

Hi Mark
Sorry about the problems there as I think that was our fault. I've fixed it now on your site and added the fix to the updater so it shouldn't occur again.

Thanks Vince.

Should I delete the old files below?

vsadmin/inc/customppsend.asp (7/26/2012)
vsadmin/inc/customppreturn.asp (7/26/2012)

Hi Mark
I've removed the contents of the files for you as they can't be deleted as the system expects those files to be there.
