More and more people are becoming concerned over privacy.

"Until about a month ago, shoppers on Dell’s website looking for a new laptop could log in using their Facebook credentials to avoid creating a new username and password. That option is now gone.

Dell isn’t alone. Other big brands, including Best Buy, Ford Motor, Pottery Barn, Nike, Patagonia, Match and Amazon’s video-streaming service Twitch have removed the ability to sign on with Facebook. It’s a marked departure from just a few years ago, when the Facebook login was plastered all over the internet, often alongside buttons that let you sign in with Google, Twitter or LinkedIn."

That sounds really great !! . . . Mankind is moving forward from being spied on and data harvested.

If only they will drop Google, well I can only hope.

I have never used Facebook login, never would & in fact dumped my Facebook account about six years ago. Never trusted them, never will & same with Google. Not all sharks have fins on their backs!

With any online service that requires an email address as a login, or an email address on file, I always create an email address on one of my domains that's unique to that service & ONLY ever used for that service.

On the one hand I do believe that privacy is important . . . but . . .
Some of these companies provide a lot of services that we now take for granted are free. I've just for instance been tracking down a place to get washing machine spare parts for instance on Google Maps. Now I know I'll be inundated with ads for washing machines in the next few days, but really I can put up with that if the alternative is that I'd have to pay for everything.
