 Customer Email Confirmation Not Working

Our customers are not receiving a confirmation email after making a purchase. We've checked all the settings and they are correct. We are receiving emails advising of an order being placed though. Please advise how to fix this. Thanks...Jennye

Were the confirmation emails working before? And did you host make any changes between then and now?

Yes they were and yes the host did make some changes. I chatted with them, but it was not helpful to say the least.

I know, I was just dreading it. They cleared the cache and that solved the items not showing up in the cart, however, they didn't address the email issue at that time. I suppose I will just have to chat with them again...sigh...I set the email as default because no emails were going out until I did that. Now at least an email is sent when there is an order. The host setting was set with the former host, and Bluehost never did answer about how to set the smtp host, so I will experiment a little before chatting again. Should I have set the email settings to default?

Everything worked fine until the updater was applied. Could this have something to do with that?

I think it has to do with that cache problem you pointed out. I may have gotten it working now. Thanks for all your help - it's greatly appreciated! Jennye
