Hi, our logs are showing the following error since the v7.7.6 update:

mod_fcgid: stderr: PHP Warning: Undefined global variable $adminLogging in /var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpdocs/vsadmin/inc/incfunctions.php on line 921

Can anyone suggest a fix? Thanks in advance.

Hi Pauld
All the pages should call a function, "getadminsettings()" and that should define the adminLogging parameter. If that isn't being called, or calling that function doesn't define that parameter I would take a first guess that you haven't updated all the files from the updater. Could that be the case?

Vince, thank you for your reply.

We didn't see any FTP errors to indicate that a file failed to upload when installed the v7.7.6 Updater.

Except for some GIFs in /images, the only file not uploaded directly from that Updater is the modified inc/incorders.php for DLSS' Repeat Order Indicator, but we verified that, like the original, their version has this line 236:

$alreadygotadmin=getadminsettings();

What is our best way to determine what file on our site might be causing this error?

Hi Paul
The first thing I would do is check the date modified dates on the files on the server in the vsadmin and vsadmin/inc directories

Thanks for this, Vince.

The vsadmin files not showing a modified date of 6/24/2024 when the v7.7.6 Updater was installed are (as expected):

includes.php
db_conn_open.php

The files in inc/vsadmin not showing the 6/24/2024 modified date are:

cartprogressbar.php (10/15/2021)
class.smtp.php (10/11/2020)
class.phpmailer.php (10/11/2020)
phpmailer.lang-en.php (6/18/2020)
incrci.php (6/18/2020)
GTSconfirmation.php (6/18/2020)
customppsend.php (6/18/2020)
customppreturn.php (6/18/2020)

I don't see a "getadminsettings()" call in that Cart Progress Bar add-on cartprogressbar.php, or in the DLSS Repeat Order Indicator file incrci.php, but that's expected, right?

Edited to add /inc modified dates

That is correct Paul, those files of mine do not call that function.

Hi Pauld
I've made a change to the incfunctions.php file so that even if that file is called without calling the getadminsettings() function first, it won't cause this warning to display. The change is in the updater.

Thanks for this hotfix, Vince.

Error logs look quiet again for now. :-)
