 order and inventory stock issue

What would make an order that is unauthorized, come thought "without" items, but the items are pulled from the inventory.

The problem is, when I cancel that order, since there are no items there, the inventory isn't updated when I cancel the order.

Hi Steven
When the modification warning flag is set the stock is immediately returned. So if the customer then removes items from the cart it shouldn't matter as stock has already been returned for those items. So it's correct that when you cancel the order the inventory isn't updated. If the inventory is out then that is a different matter, but it's not because of canceling an order that has no products.

In this case, the items were never put back into stock. This isn't the first time this has happened. The last time a customer alerted me of the issue and I had to manually check the stock and fix it so he could order.

Any thoughts on this? Our inventory numbers are incorrect due to this issue.

Sorry for the delay but I'm 100% sure that I know what caused this problem and it may take a day or two more to test the different possibilities but I'm on the case. Do you want me to update your site fully to the latest version when it's ready?

Hi Steven
I've updated your site now and it's all looking good. One thing I noticed when updating is that I check the cart pages in the process and thought that Chrome had crashed on me. But it turns out you've got the number of products per page set to 999 and that's so many items on the page that Chrome just locked up. I know most of your customers probably navigate the site via categories and so see less, but if they do the same as me they may think the site is broken and just leave.

I think that's just caching so do a <Ctrl>+F5 to get a new copy of the admin style sheet.
