Insurance Not Getting Added to Shipments Automatic

Hey guys,

For a while now, we've had domestic and international orders automatically add insurance to customer orders, or a least we've had the options turned on. For some reason, this amount has not been getting automatically added to customer orders, so we've had to put a manual percentage rate to not lose money. Essentially, the automatic insurance options don't seem to be working. We can confirm this because UPS WorldShip automatically adds in these amounts and we can see the differences when we compare rates with website orders vs WorldShip orders. Is this because of how UPS is implemented into the website that it is not able to communicate to get insurance rates properly?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
Apologies for this but I think you're absolutely right and I've fixed this now and added the fix to the updater in the file...

vsadmin/inc/uspsshipping.php

This fix is also in the ASP version for anyone who needs it.

Vince,

Also meant to ask, is this as simple as uploading the file via FTP and overwriting the old? We're on the latest stable version of ECT so the database updater and such has already been ran of course.

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Vince,

I uploaded the file yesterday to our site via FTP but still no luck. For context, this seems to be only related to domestic US orders through UPS. We are currently on the latest stable version of ECT.

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
In that case could you go to the ECT Admin -> Main Settings page and under Store Settings check "Enable XML / JSON request Logging". Then try a shipment that should have insurance and the go to the Dashboard (Admin home page) and click on "Activity Log" and you should see the XML request and response. Then could you send that to me at vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com and I'll take a look.
