Hi all
Thanks for having me on board..
I've got a site running and I'm suffering after restarting starting it as a multi-language.
I think I followed all the instructions for an Ecommerce Plus PHP v7.7.8 build.

French as first language and English as it's second.
French (first language ) all ok ..
On the new language (English) I get no images for products / categories.
When we get to proddetail.php it swaps back to the French (first language ) version
All very odd LOL
Can you give me any pointers?
regards
robbie

Hi Robbieflow

Do you have the second language in a sub-directory? If so, could you specify the image location with a slash at the beginning? For instance, instead of...
prodimages/yourimage.gif
...have...
/prodimages/yourimage.gif

Hi Vince
Ok thanks for the reply.
I've tried (I use dreamweaver from 2004 )
A/ "search" in vsadmin to find prodimages/ and changed them all to /prodimages/ this did not help.
B/ I up loaded a second copy of prodimages to server en/prodimages this DOES work. (But not a good work around as It will not be PRATICAL in the longrun :)
C/ Moved my EN .php files to the same level as index.php using "en-products.php" ( keeping vsadmin, css, jsimages in the /en/ this worked.

D/ I'm using "Templates" tried moving this into the EN .. no joy..

E/ Found this in the /EN/vsadmin/ <div style="font-size:0.8em">If this location is incorrect then please set the parameter $defaultprodimages in your vsadmin/includes.php file.</div>
https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/phphelp/ecommplus/parameters.asp
so went and had a play..

$defaultprodimages='/prodimages/';
$defaultcatimages='/prodimages/';

NO joy..

regards
robbie

Hi Robbie, you would want to undo all of those changes and avoid altering the core files in the vsadmin.
What Vince was referring to is the path to your images in the admin in the product listings.

This image is somewhat old, but there in the admin when you edit/create your products, you simply want a slash in front of the image path.

Thanks,
David

Hi David
Now isee said the blindman #128513;
Thankyou that solved the problem :)

Don't worry I just tested before going back to the orginal core files (I had a good look around).
So now I have images showing for both languages .. PERFECT.

Last little problem when I click on a proddetail.php in products / categories it swaps back to the French (first language).
Is it something I have missed on the edit/create your products page?

Any ideas
regards
robbie

Hi Robbie
Try adding this to your vsadmin/includes.php file (edited for your store of course)

$orstoreurl='https://www.yourstore.com/yourenglishfolder';

and thankyou for your time. BINGO .. ALL WORKING

Added to orginal : vsadmin/includes.php file

$languageid=1;
$orstorelang='fr';
$orstoreurl='https://www.mystore.com/';

And to : vsadmin/includes.php file (new language folder)

$languageid=2;
$orstorelang='en';
$orstoreurl='https://www.mystore.com/myenglishfolder';
