Does an 'IP Blocking' Log Exist?

pauld Ecommerce Template Expert USA 513 Posts	Posted - 02/18/2025 : 08:17:24 We occasionally add abusive buyers to the IP Blocking list in our Cart. Does a log exist to show the day and time that an IP address was blocked using this feature? Since most residential IP addresses aren't static, we'd like to trim our block list to include only those addresses with fairly recent purchase attempts.

pauld Ecommerce Template Expert USA 513 Posts	Posted - 02/18/2025 : 08:45:22 Dave, we've been keeping an Excel spreadsheet with the blocked IP, date blocked, order number, customer name, and our comments. Some of those comments - including records of profane things said by some buyers - might be better kept on an internal spreadsheet. :-(

Most are plumbers who spend all day talking to people who have sewage backing up into the house. I'd take our buyers over fantasy football fanatics any day. :-) ETA: last month we had a buyer who was so intoxicated that he interrupted my question and said, "man, are you REAL or are you AI?" steven vaccaro Ecommerce Template Guru USA 1080 Posts	Posted - 03/12/2025 : 06:10:21 Another nice feature would be the date the block was added. for example a customer emailed me that he was blocked. it was auto blocked by the settings. I couldnt find his ip. so I had to unblock several to get him back in to the site.
