This is a new Major Release which has the following features.

Admin Orders Past Order Lookup
When editing / creating an order in the admin orders page, if you start typing someone's email address that they have used for past orders or have created a client login account with, the system will now look up that email and any addresses that are associated with it. Selecting the email will populate the address fields and also, in the case of a customer account link the account to the order created.

Product Id and Product Detail Search
If you start typing a new product id in the product id field, or product name in the product name field the system will search for matches and populate a drop down list to select from. When you select from that list (or click the "..." button as before) the product details / prices are retrieved from the server.

More AJAX Technology
The "..." button now retrieves order details using AJAX technology so you don't get any popup anymore which can be blocked by popup blockers.

Alternate Shipping Carriers in Shipping Estimator
Listing of Alternate Shipping Carriers on the first checkout page so your customers can check to see if there are better rates available.
IP Address on Admin Orders page automatically linked to online IP location checker.

Dynamic CSS Menu Creation System
Integration for more modern dynamic CSS menu designs which will eventually replace the DHTML popout and dropdown menus. These menus are easier to crawl for search engines and more compatible with modern browser. They also give the possibility of creating the entire category hierarchy in the admin categories page including categories that are not part of the product hierarchy.

CMS Content Regions
CMS Content Regions have been added allowing you to set up pages or regions in pages that can be edited through the ECT administration section. The FCK Editor has been integrated into the admin section allowing you to use a WYSIWYG editor to edit your page content.

Cardinal Commerce 3D Secure
Implementation of the Cardinal Commerce 3D Secure system to provide Verified by VISA, Mastercard SecureCode and J/Secure functionality.

Searching and Quick Delete in Ratings
The admin ratings page now includes more powerful searching and "quick edit / quick delete" functions. This also allows for the quick deletion of any SPAM entries.

Wholesale and Percentage Discounts on One Account
Both wholesale pricing and percentage discounts can be added to the same customer login account. This means you can give a customer say a 10% reduction on the Wholesale Price of a product.

Customer Detail Carry Forward
Zip, State, Country settings etc entered when using the shipping estimator will now be carried forward to the checkout page.
Google markup added to product ratings so that Google can easily crawl your rated products.

Sexy New-Look Admin Panel
New sleek, modern look admin panel.

Deprecated Font Tag Removal
Removal of deprecated <font> tags for more standards compliant output.

Admin Cookies on All Pages
All admin pages are now cookie enabled so you won't get logged out.

Admin Category Page Reworking
A redesign of the admin categories page allowing for searching of categories and also listing of the categories in a more logical grouping with categories of the same level.

Checkboxes as Product Options
Product options that are shown as radio buttons will automatically become checkboxes if there is only one option. This enables selecting / deselecting the option and also as a radio button has no sense for a single option as it cannot be deselected. This enables very neat lists of Yes / No or Want / Don't want options when set up this way or "Multiple Selection Lists".

1 out of 5 Rating System
The rating stars now use a 1 out of 5 rather than a 1 out of 10 system as 1 out of 5 does seem to be by far the standard on the internet.

Product Search by Manufacturer
The admin products page now allows searching through manufacturers as well as categories. This allows you to say search for an update / edit your entire "Adidas" line (for example) in one go.

Custom Payment Processors on SSL
The cart now has the possibility to integrate customer payment processors that take the credit card number on your site.

Force State Selector
A flag "forcestateselector" has been introduced to force the state selector in the shipping estimator.

Meaner, Leaner, Greener
Many, many changes to make the code leaner and trimmer for optimal performance on your web server.

This is a major update so all files have changed.

As this is the first release of v5.9 we've designated it "Beta" but it's received the same thorough testing as all our releases.
