Okay:

I have a standing discount of 20% when people buy 4 or more tickets to our theatre: $10 a ticket, or 4 for $32

Today I offered a "buy one get one free" coupon to some of our customers: I assigned the coupon a 50% discount. The first purchase was for 4 tickets...I expected this to result in a $16 fee ($40, less 20%=32, less 50% of 32=16)

I see now that the discount percentages are added first, and then applied: 20% + 50%; 70% of 40=12.

It's not that big a deal, since this was a way to get some people to poorly selling performances, but can I fix this?

Hi John

I think you would be better of using Quantity Pricing there, something like this....

1.....$10
2.....$5
3.....$5
4.....$5
