After running a test order, I never received a confirmation email. After sending an email to a friend, the friend never received the email. I asked a question and it was never received. All appeared to go through, but were not received. I checked spam filters, etc.
It appears that the email function does not work in the cart. I checked the includes and the settings appear correct for two of these, but I'm not sure where to check for the email order confirmation.

It's set correctly for the actual live store. I don't have an email address set up for the new store, i.e. sales@fernridgecollections.com so I left that address as the original URL.
I'm more concerned about the customer not receiving a confirmation email. I placed the order and paid through PayPal. I received my PayPal receipt and I saw the order in the PayPal account, but I never received a confirmation from the site. Also, the email a friend was sent to one of my other email addresses and it never arrived. Same thing with the question I asked.

I don't know if it works on the current live store because they had the option to purchase turned off. They did not sell, so there were no order confirmations sent to them or their customer, nor were there any emails to a friend, nor were there any ask a question. There current "store" is an old template with few options, and as I said, they didn't use it as an actual store. I suppose I can only hope that it works when they go live?

I added this:
$useemailfriend=TRUE;
I see it in the store, however, it's all jumbled up. I was able to send one out though and it appears to have gone, but still no email. I checked my spam filter too.

It's Servelink and they do because they also host From Nancy's Needle. There was a problem a few years ago and they had us disable email a friend because of spamming. It's not something that I've addressed since then. I simply disabled the option and never looked back. Nancy does sell online and her emails for both confirmation of order to the customer and notification of an order email to her. She does not use the email a friend.

I had a previous phpmailer that I downloaded in July that is different from the one on the site now. The current version is 6.01 and talks a lot about composer. Would it be okay to use the one I have from July? It's less confusing.

Also, the latest version doesn't appear to have the class.phpmailer.pho or the other folders listed in your tutorial.
This is what is in that zip file:
folders: .github .phan language src
files: .php_cs composer.json get_oauth_token.php LICENSE phpdoc.dist.xml UPGRADING.md VERSION

Did that, still a no go. I opened a support ticket with Servelink, but FYI here is the info I entered:

The email a friend works great and I checked the settings to make sure that the receive an email when the order is placed is checked. I did a test order, but I never received a confirmation of order email. Is there some setting in my includes file that I am missing?
