Hi,

www.acmecarparts.com

I need to figure out the best way to make the Horizontal CSS Navigation menu work with my left side pop out navigation menu.

  • Need the link information on how to make the changes to the top horizontal menu navigation. Somewhere on the site there is info on how to make it visible, invisible, edits, changes in the manual for the template. I still have the default template product menu.

  • How to get my top navigation menu to link correctly to my categories as in my left navigation. I haven't been able to locate the info on how to make this work correctly.

Hi

The top navigation menu is static in that you would really need to edit the links yourself - there isn't any relation between that and the side menu. You'd make the edits in the HTML editor in the same way you use to make changes across the rest of the site.

Hi Andy,

After further investigation I find the CSS Horizontal Navigation menu has never worked. Just the left css vertical navigation menu is working as expected.
So I need to figure out what code is missing in the template and includes file to get it working.

Thanks

<!--#include file="vsadmin/inc/incmenu.asp"-->

Now my site is not working.....

..and I did remove it... however,,, it still no longer works,,, and main page has two vertical navigation menus...

The top menu is just regular links that you would manually link up to pages on your site, it's not dynamic.

My site is down... I cant remove the additional nav menu..... I don't know how to explain further my site is down....

My left nav was working fine..... now I have another left nav in my image field on top of the main home page.... my home page is no longer my home page.... and does not default correctly..... when I added per the manual the ability to have both type of css menus it destroyed the orginal navigation that worked.... I have undone the code however it has not come off the page as expected....

I didn't write this code for the css menus... so it has cuased issue on my site and even after undoing it.... my site is not working...

...my apologies for being a little disappointed and frustrated... I think a little time spent working on documentation adding some details would be helpful and solve scenarios like this from occurring. Hopefully my concern is understandable since I expected the site to return to normal after removing two lines of code... however these two lines of code even after removing have trashed my site and my work....

As great as support is.. and it is great... I don't know the hours of support and the expectations of time and turn around for responses... so It leaves me with decisions I can or cant make in continuing to fix it alone, or wait, I am now looking at my backups... and their seems to be issues as well so reverting back or finding the files these two lines of code touched will be extremely time consuming like days... because I cant find enough documentation to provide an overview on how these CSS Menu layouts work and what pages they touch...

Looking at your site right now it just seems that you have added a menu that shouldn't be there. The site is not down, it's just showing a dynamic menu where it shouldn't be. In theory, removing those two lines should put it back to how it was but if you're having trouble with that, send me on your FTP details.

I have removed the extra menu so the site shows fine again now but will have to check why the top menu wasn't showing horizontally.
