Could I get a little information on how BOTH of these 2 fields are supposed to work?

I've had 2 customers say their customers are not getting the Private Order Status with their status notification.

One of these, by the way, is marking the order Completed FIRST and adding the Private Order Status message, THEN they change the status from Completed to Shipped when the order is actually shipped ... to me that order seems reversed, so could THAT be why their customers are not getting the Private Order Status message?

Hi Tim,

I believe the 'private order status' box is for your use and is NOT meant for the customer to see.

You might for example use that field to keep calculations or supplier info that you don't want the customer to see, but is useful to refer to in house.

Thanks, Ross ... and do you know if it matters which order these things are used in? As I mentioned, they're using COMPLETED when they've packed the order, then they change it to SHIPPED after shipping ... obviously if it matters, we'll need to get them to follow the proper order sequence.

Hi Ross, Private order status is only for the store owners/employees to use for notes regarding a particular order customers to not see that information. Customers see information input in the field titled Status Info, information input there will retain even when the order status is updated, it is only removed when a order is deleted/purged from the system.

It looks like this parameter is the only one that can be sent {%statusinfo%} ... I don't believe it matters as far as the order as long as the email to customer check box is checked.

Maybe they should change COMPLETED to Processing.
