Hi, yesterday our website had a 5 hour outage, reportedly caused when PHP v5.6 encountered issues at our web host.

Our web host suggests that we switch to PHP 7.1 to help reduce the odds of this happening again. We're currently running ECT v6.7.3.

1. Has anyone encountered Cart issues with this sort of PHP version change? We'd be grateful to hear of any experiences, tips, etc.

2. In addition to ECT our site runs a custom PHP countdown timer script and MachForm for printed catalog requests. We'd be grateful for links to any suggested documentation to help check or troubleshoot these sorts of applications before the change.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Paul

There shouldn't be any issues with PHP 7.1 and ECT - we have some notes here https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=107737 that you might want to check on.

Paul,

I tried the switch myself after that outage and noticed that T-Hub does not work with PHP 7. I'm not sure if you use T-Hub, just FYI.

I'm looking at the T-Hub Code to see what needs to be changed as there are no updates form T-Hub.

Rusty, thanks for this.

Am I right that you were able to change from PHP v5.6, to v7.1, and then revert back to PHP 5.6 in your Plesk 'PHP Settings' page without any apparent issues with the cart or anything else - other than T-Hub?

Thanks in advance for confirming this.

Hi, I wanted to confirm that changing the PHP version on our web host from 5.6.32 to 7.2.0 does not seem to cause any issues with our Cart v6.7.3, or with the MachForm software we're using to collect catalog requests.
