I am going to update a client to v6.8.3 and noticed their server is running PHP 5.5.22. Is this a new enough version to not cause a problem? They are using PayPal, for what that is worth.

Hi Marshall

That is the bare minimum but if available I would look to be using 7.1

PHP 5.5.xx is unsupported as from July 2016. PHP 5.6 is still security supported through to Dec 2018 but was actively supported through to 19th Jan 2017. Most good hosts support PHP version switching & if that's possible with the hosting I would switch to PHP 7.1

I did not chose the hosting company and it is not one I personally would use. Guess I will talk to the client. Thanks.
