I have to admit it's been a while since I've used Dreamweaver and some things are rusty. So, I'm asking for help to understand what I'm doing wrong.

I opened Dreamweaver and set the link to the template info. I can pull up the main.dwt file but the display looks like the info is some type of outline and not something with the graphics, boxes, etc.

I am in design mode which I vaguely remember is what I need to use for looking at the page to see how changes would appear.

Anyone have thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

TIA
Rick

Hi Rick

First of all can you let us know if you are working from a responsive design as there can sometimes be display issues in design view?

Dreamweaver can sometimes struggle in design view with a responsive layout, it seems to get confused with which css corresponds to what it is showing. I find the easiest way is to use the split view (design /code) so you can see clearly what you are editing. I know some people comment out the media quesry sections, only when editing - and removing the commenting before publishing so you have something like this in style.css

/*@media screen and (max-width: 980px) {

Even using the Split Screen mode has the right side showing something like an outline.

Is there a better (newer) program to use for editing the templates?

Can you send me a screen shot via email of what you're seeing and I'll compare it to what I get here?
