Usps just this Saturday added shipping restrictions to international letters. You can no longer put items in letters. Documents only. All outgoing items must be in a box. This will increase shipping costs for customers about 3x what it was.
Stamps. Com is combating this by shipping all items that will fit in an envelope to a domestic location in the USA and then forwarding them overseas At a cost of $2.50.
My problem is the letter option for shipping has disappeared from the options on checkout in my cart.
I checked usps. Com and shipping by letter is an option.

I was testing earlier and the method wouldn't show for me - I assume that as USPS have restricted its use, its no longer part of their online tools so they have stopped it from appearing on ecommerce sites. Andy Please feel free to review / rate our software

I spoke to Stamps.com They said because we use the USPS tools feature to get rates, there is no way to get it to work.
They asked if as a work around, we could possibly add another shipper with manual rates based on weights?

No. Stamps.com is 100% certainly NOT the USPS. Shipstation (owned by Stamps.com) sent an email last week explaining they new option they have, along with the fact that letters would not longer be an International option.
Why not setup a weight based option and name it USPS International Envelope and add it to your international shipping setup?

Thanks Dave, I did receive and read the letter. Implementing the option for customers to pick is my problem.
I can pick it on stamps or shipstation, but its not an option for customers to chose. I haven't done much in the shipping area in Ecomm since we set it up in the year 2007. Ill give it a shot.

Setting up weight based for International only, for one shipping service should not be too bad. There's a help video Andy made as well.

Thanks, I have it set up.
I didnt realize you could do weight based shipping and still keep the other services active. Thats a nice feature. Thanks for pointing it out.
