Hi J, If you need to make your customers agree to your terms and conditions on checkout, set

termsandconditions=true

You will also need to create a page with your terms and conditions called termsandconditions.asp ...which will be shown in a 420 x 380 popup on the cart page.

To set up information that you add links on your site you will need to create those pages, one method is to use the content regions for information pages https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/content-management.asp

Hi Sinbad, thanks for the info.

Im not sure what you mean by...[yellow](To set up information that you add links on your site you will need to create those pages, one method is to use the content regions for information pages https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/content-management.asp)[/yellow]

I copied my about page and made changes as my terms and conditions. Hopefully it will work. Im using one of the ecommerce templates. Im still trying to understand the premise of the content regions why or how they work? Is there more info on them? Is there a reason not to duplicate a page through expression web or some other editor? Is there a restriction on Content Regions?

I am still wrapping my head around the work flow and functionality of how the ecommerce templates are designed and how they function. A flow chart on how the shopping cart interacts with a template or existing site? What effects what?

Hi

There's no reason at all when making a new page you shouldn't just start with an existing page, save it under a new name and your content through Dreamweaver or Expression Web. You would use the content regions if you wanted to add that content through the store admin, completely up to you though.

Hi J, content regions allow you to make changes to the content from the admin area instead of having to do it in through Dreamweaver or Expression web. Say you want to setup a shipping policy and that policy needs to be updated with some new information. You would just go into that content region and make the change. Content regions can have any html element it can not use asp or php includes.

Thanks Sinbad, Andy,

I am still struggling a bit.
I created a copy of my about us page and made my changes for my terms and conditions. Also made the entry in the includes file, however I am not seeing anything at checkout?
Any suggestions?
Thanks
John

FYI, My site is at http://bobsf100.com.204-140-21-20.servelink.com/ SSL/Cert wont work until I have the domain name transferred over... Not sure if this may be contributing to the problem?

Thanks
J

The ssl certificate won't make any difference but do you have this includes.asp

termsandconditions=true

Make sure that isn't duplicated / set to false elsewhere in the file.

By the way, as the terms content shows up in a pop-up window it's best to remove the regular page formatting ie with no header, sidebar or footer.

If it's still not working for you, send me an email with your FTP details and I'll take a look.

Hi Jason

Have you added the $termsandconditions=TRUE; or termsandconditions=TRUE; to your includes file? If so then all that is needed is a regular webpage on your server called termsandconditions.php / asp & that will show as a 420 x 380 popup. No content region used
