Hi All,

For the site im working on I have had to create all the inventory as well as the categories and imported around 2300 inventory items.

The section ID in the database is how the inventory is assigned to Categories.

All my inventory has Section ID's assigned to them so they should be showing up in Categories.

I have about 600 items that have a Section ID but done show up under the Categories they are supposed to. They have a red asterisk next to them.

When I go to one of these items and manually re-assign them to the exact same category and section ID it works fine. I verified the inventory item is using the exact same Section ID and is assigned the exact same category.

These inventory items should just work and are in the correct category location to begin with. Not sure why it only works manually when selecting the same category and section id.

Thanks
J

Are you saying you "imported" the section ID's?
Was this a 3rd party utility?

Hi J, can you check if a space crept in the front of the SectionID column for those items as that can occur when copy / paste is used and there is a space where the content is to be pasted.

Hi Sinbad,

I used Excel to build and import the inventory.

I cleaned and scrubbed all the data prior to inserting it into Excel and afterwards. Meaning no spaces, no prefixes, no characters after any names or numbers in all fields. No invisible characters. It has all been cleaned prior to importing.

Hi are you sure you have the section id for products can be added to this category and not the home category that has a scope of categories can be added to this category.
