we are currently out of stock of an item, to offer a discount for it being on backorder.
we have setup the discount and assigned it, but when you add the item to the cart as a backordered item, it does not apply the discount.
any ideas on how to set this up better?

In theory it shouldn't make any difference if it's back order only. You're not using the alt prod I'd feature, are you?

The products use options, but no alt prod id
it shows the discount, but doesn't apply it when you add it to the cart
i'd like to still make some sales while I'm out of stock, and give them an incentive to purchase it while on back order.

Can you apply that discount to a regular product just as test and that will tell us if it's a problem with the discount or product set up.

the discount was not working for any products, I deleted it and made a new one and now it works, not sure what happened but it is fixed now.
