Hi. Is it possible to hide a category in my store, but still make it available to my employees?
Thanks. Paul

I think you can if you set it to a different login level.

Yes, the login level works fine. I've set a new category on a site with a login level assigned so that the category and contents isn't publicly viewable, while still being able to see the products as they are added & edited before they go live.

Wonderful. I did try setting a different login level, but didn't really know how to make the link available to employees. Is there a link where information is available to do this?
Thanks.

Your employees will need a client account on the website. Once they have an account created, you can give their account permission for that login level. Then the category will be visible to them.

I tried setting up login level 4, but after creating a login and logging in, when I click on my shop button it does not show the category which I set to login level 4, even though I had already logged in. Isn't the category supposed to show once you have logged in? Thanks. Paul

I have set the client login level to 4. I am logged in, and have the new category set to level 4 as well. However, when I go to the page where this new category should appear to someone with a login level of 4, I don't see it. https://www.ag-usa.net/categories.php
When I remove the login level of 4 from this category it appears, but when I add it the category disappears from view, even though I am logged in at level 4.
Second, in the instructions, it says, If you would like to have a login status box on each page you will need to add one line of code where you would like the login box to appear.
Since I don't want a login status box visible to my customers, only my office personnel, I just added <?php include "vsadmin/inc/incminilogin.php"?> to the page I have created for them to use to log in: https://www.ag-usa.net/tote.php
If I understand correctly, I don't need to put the code on every page, only on the pages where I want the client to have the option to log in, right?
Thanks.

Yes, setting a login level of 5 but leaving the login level of four for that category worked. When I log out, the category is not visible, and when I log back in it becomes visible. Thanks. Paul

I went back and tried it again with both the category and the login set to 4 and it still worked. Then I made a new login for my employees, and it didn't work. But then I tried logging out and then logging back in and that login worked as well. Thought you might like to know. Thanks. Paul

If you make changes to an account while the client is logged in, they will need to log out, and then back in for those changes to take effect.

Hi Paul
On the subject of login levels you can have more than the standard default 5 levels by adding this line to your includes file
eg: $maxloginlevels=10; for PHP
maxloginlevels=10; for ASP
