Froala froala froala. So this has been the bain of my life as it take 2-3 attempts to enter anything.
If I am in source view it seems to enter random characters of its own free will. Lets not get started on the strange cursor icon. Obviously this presents issues when entering any data. Us anyone else having this issue and please for the love of god. What is the resolution :-)

Like Andy says, an example will help, but I wanted to ask if the data (product description) was originally imported from your suppliers csv file. It could be a character set difference and some characters are being misinterpreted.

I think that is probably the case, David. If I enter what you have <p>Test System with a forward slash /</p> I get exactly that with no extra stuff (I can see the Á in yours). I think it's corrupt from the csv file - it happens from Word too where it's best to paste from Word to a text editor and then into the description field to remove any extra formatting. And did you go to nztdev? ok dont answer this as I just read your previous and I saw the products so know you was here
That is not imported from csv and is 2 products manually entered so thats not going to be the issue

I had a look around for a few moments. On the front of your website you have <meta charset="utf-8"> in the admin you have <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/>
This will surely lead to problems. Can you change the admin to utf-8 ? That may very well fix the froala issue.
adminencoding="utf-8" in your includes.

Hi,
I am getting the same Á Cursor icon in the code view of the Froala editor.
The front of my site is <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"/>
I added the adminencoding="utf-8" to the includes which took care of the problem of strange characters instead of the >>> in the categories dropdown, but did not remove cursor problem.
Do I need to change all the pages on the front of my site to UTF-8? Should I be doing this anyway? or is there another solution?
Thanks

Hi If you use adminencoding="utf-8" for the backend then yes you would need to change the front end files to use utf-8 too <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8"> Andy Please feel free to review / rate our software

Hi Andy or Dave,
I am having the same issues with random characters on our sites using Froala. I checked charset=utf-8 and it exists so I am not sure whats up. I don't like the auto paragraph happening on every line and also have A showing up when I view via source code. What do I have to do or where do I go to change default settings to be regular html coding entry?
Thanks for your help.
Peter

In your includes add
adminencoding="utf-8"
Then in yourfront end pages ensure you have the below line at the top of each page
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">

Hi Paul,
I made the changes (.ca site) but now it is a real mess when I select the box to edit or try to expand the full screen. ??
