Hi --
I have nomailinglist set to 'TRUE' in my includes file --> no mailing list signup.

Got an email tonight -- "Just a note: Your "send me promotional emails" checkbox is impossible to click. I tried to opt in, but was unable to."

So I checked it out -- the message is still there but the check box is disabled.
Looking at the code within incfunctions.asp - it seems that if (nomailinglist<>TRUE) then it displays the sign up message and check box.
I thought nomailinglist turned off the display of the message and disabled the display checkbox. Apparently it doesn't.
So is there a CSS entry to turn off the display of this one?

Thanks,
Ed

Hi Ed

I tried that here and get no checkbox as it should be really. Do you have any other mailing list entries in includes.asp and what version is the store on just to be sure I'm checking like for like?

Using firefox, IE and chrome and all show same thing.
Checkbox is there but disabled as it should be.
Text is also still there "Allow Promotional Emails" and second message "(We will never divulge....)".

I have customers that state they want to sign up for promotional emails but the check box is disabled.
So how do I not allow any of these three items (disabled check box and two messages) to be displayed. I was hoping for something in the CSS to modify to "display:none".

Store is currently 6.8.4, no mailing list entries in includes.asp.
Only related item in includes.asp is "nomailinglist=TRUE"

Thanks,
Ed

You could add this to style.css

.cdformterms{display:none}

but that's not at all ideal as you may want to put it back or use other features which may use that css class.

I would update to the latest version as that definitely is working as it should.
