Hi All,

I am using the percentage based shipping adding 10% to the final cost for shipping cost until I get all the weights of the items in place.

The 10% shipping rate is working perfect, however i need to have a minimum shipping charge of $10.00 for items that are inexpensive or free.

How to I include this rate with a $10 minimum charge?

Thanks
J

Hi

Can you let us know how you set up the percentage shipping rates?

Hi Andy,

I set it up as price based.

Zone 1
For every 1 above the highest weight.
Add 0.1 for standard shipping.

Can you set up an initial rule of up to a price of $10 the shipping cost is $10 then implement you current rule for items over $10.

I think as Andy suggests, it's just a matter of adjusting your current setup to make it start at 10% for orders over 10.00 and a new rule that is 10.00 for orders under 10.00.

I got it...

I haven't used the rules much so not sure how they are to work with.
is there some additional docs with some further details on how they work?

I think I have it figured out... I am doing a test as we speak.
thanks

start here - https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/shipping.asp#weight and read through weight based on to price based. Must of the weight based info applies to price based as well.

Shipping is still not working or calculating correctly. I have read the documentation many times over and have set it up as i understand it to say....

Shipping needs to be price based, percentage of 10% of total cost with a minimum of 10 dollars. I cant seem to find an exact specific example of this and i have exhausted all of my ideas and troubleshooting steps.

Perhaps someone could just tell me instead of me having to speculate or maybe determine what the problem may be?

Thank you for your help

It wasn't speculation but a way of doing what you need I believe.

In the postal zones admin page you should have something like this

Max weight ---- Shipping Method
5 -------------------------10

and then

For every 1 above the highest weight......add an extra 0.1

Your values will be different but this way any item or group of items costing $5 or less will get a shipping cost of $10 and then increase by 10%
