I offer free standard shipping on all order of $100 or more. However when I receive an order for a large quantity of a small item, the shipping charges can increase tremendously.
I have been looking for a solution to exemplify free shipping or decrease normal shipping fees if a certain (large) number of items are ordered, thus increasing the shipping weight and costing me a lot more money.
For example: When a customer orders 10 small corrugated boxes at .10 cents ea., they pay for shipping and all is well. When a customer orders 1000 small corrugated boxes, they receive free shipping. However the weight of 1000 corrugated boxes is approximately 65 pounds. The total for the order is $100 but UPS charges me $67 for shipping. Result = no profit
I know I can just increase my free shipping threshold or mark individual products "free shipping exempt". However is there any way to exemplify free shipping if a certain number of products is purchased, or perhaps a certain weight is reached?
