Hi, I just downloaded the latest Updater 7.0, followed the video instructions. However the very last
step says to open your website and click the update to the newest Version etc.

I am stuck on that piece. After U updated the folders via FTP I then went to my URL but it did not
prompt me to update...

Am I doing something incorrect?

Go to whateveryoursitenameis.com/updatestore.php and then read the stuff, check the box and press the button Done. If that page is a 404 then you must have missed some files in your upload process or something.

actually it just goes to a blank white page?

could that also mean I missed updating something?

That's probably a PHP error then, if you have a blank white page. Do you have access to your log files though a control panel of some sort? If so the error_log will say what's going wrong. If not you could try uploading all the files again, just in case; it won't hurt.

Filezilla is fine, but there's no harm in doing the upload again just in case something got lost on the way. Beyond that you'll need to chase down the actual error message.

Could it be you deleted db_conn_open.php or includes.php or the whole original vsadmin folder before updating? You should just need to overwrite the files on the server with the ones from the updater and not delete anything.

Thanks Andy and Peter for your help.

Andy I was able to get the update to work.

QUestion: as long as my control panel now says Ecommerce Plus PHP v7.0.0
in the upper left corner I should be good to go?

thanks again.

Yes, you can call it good at this point, provided everything works

I don't think you have completely updated actually.

Your pages are missing this line

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/ectcart.js"></script>

and the ectcart.css file is from last year.

I think you may have run updatestore.php in your browser but haven't uploaded the updater admin files or ectcart.css

I still had your details from yesterday so have fixed that for you and the update is complete - you don't need to do anything else.
