I have a client with a very modified and old version of ect.
The website has worked well for years selling low value music downloads collecting payment through paypal
I think we last benchmarked the php version about 3 or 4 years back
It is running through a shared ssl too

Items are added fine but in the last month it hands over to paypal and transaction happens - but it doesnt hand back to the store with the auth code

Any suggestions other than updating to latest release and recoding the modifications as my client quite simply wont pay for that - a quick fix he will but not the work I know it needs (update and rebuild)

I think the only thing to check on an older store really is the PDT / auto return settings https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/phphelp/ecommplus/paypal.asp - other than that updating the store and php versions.
