Hi, our site is WwWdOtsafeTyprOShoPdotcoM. Its been awhile since I have updated the
site using DW and just noticed when I tried to do a global change it does not seem to be
updating in DW. I am updating the section on the left under Our Services. I added some
more links. Noticed after adding them and doing a Save, it did not update the other pages of
the site. I tried uploading it to our server and am not seeing changes there.

I did a test and tried updating the About Us page and it updates fine after uploading the file..

Any help is greatly appreciated. ...

After saving the template you will need to upload all the updated pages to the server.

Hi

Can you let us know if you are using Dreamweaver or Expression Web - if it's Dreamweaver you probably what to go to Commands > Advanced > Recreate Site Cache.

Hi, Im using Dreamweaver CS3. I think I didn't explain it
very good.

WHat is happening is: After I added several links to the dwt and after
I did a Save All, it didnt ask to update all the other pages. There is always
a dialog box that opens that asks if you want to update all pages.

Also I did the Recreate site cache but that didnt seem to change anything

When you make the change in the dwt file, click on Save rather than Save All. When you have the dwt file open I wouldn't have any other files open in Dreamweaver, it's not a big deal but best that way I think.

Hi

I tried again, I made a change and clicked File/Save and the dialog box to update all the pages did not come up.

This is the dialog box for making the global changes in DW.

Could it be that I have the files in the wrong
Directory??

Thank You

It's probably worth defining the site again - Site > New Site from the top menu.

I am having this same problem. My Main.dwt file is currently in my Templates folder. When editing the file, I receive the prompt to update all pages. The progress bar shows all pages being updated and completed. However, when opening the other pages, no changes have occurred.

I tried moving my Main.dwt file to my root folder but it doesn't prompt to update the other pages. What is the secret for this?

That should be ok, are you definitely changing a non-editable in the dwt file?

Yes, I've tried numerous times to edit the ECT Styles Logo and other non-editable regions such as the text "Premium Version" and beneath, etc.

I've had this problem before, when I first purchased the template, uploaded my website and began editing. I ended up moving the Main.dwt file to my root folder and did something else to get it working but I can't remember what it was. I purchased a new domain name so I uploaded the template to a new server and am having the problem all over again.

When I make a change to main.dwt, I get the prompt box, stating "There are 15 files attched to Templates/main.dwt. Would you like to update them now?" After clikcing "Yes" I receive a message (0 of 15) files updated. (So it is detecting the attached pages but is not updating them for some reason).

I got it, I remember what I had to do. The Main.dwt was not updating the attached pages when it was in the Templates folder. So I moved the Main.dwt to my root folder but then had to edit all other pages

from:

<!-- #BeginTemplate "Templates/main.dwt" -->

to

<!-- #BeginTemplate "main.dwt" -->

Works fine now
