Can someone tell my why "Username exceeds maximum length" shows up on checkout instead of USPS shipping methods?

There's no error in their USPS account, and no way to reset or recreate their username, so I don't know if this is a USPS registration problem or an ECT issue?

Any ideas?

Could it be you are using the "Click'n'Ship" username instead of the USPS Online Tools username? It should be 12 characters I believe.

The new procedure does not allow us to setup the USPS account because the usual registration link takes goes to USPS.com and prompts the customer for a username and password to setup their USPS account, and I've got NO IDEA how to register in order to plug into their shipping rates.

VERY frustrating!!

You can see the error on the multiple carrier page after providing billing info: https://ferryvillecheese.com ... the customers login username must be the problem, but again, there does not seem to be a way to register for USPS shipping as I've done a MANY times before!?

I've spent WAY too much time searching for the proper registration link ...am I supposed to charge my customer for my time because the registration link goes to the wrong place.

I have little doubt that USPS screwed this up ... I even searched the site for "how to register for usps online shipping tools" ... NOTHING.

I'd be grateful if someone could provide the correct link ...

This is the correct link for the USPS registration https://reg.usps.com/register and that's available in the shipping admin page of your store control panel.

First, the link on the https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/help/usps.asp page is https://registration.shippingapis.com/, which in the past took me to a USPS page that enabled me to register the account FOR my clients ... a tried and true process for YEARS!, but NOW it redirects to https://reg.usps.com/register ...

... and when I click on that link I'm taken to "Create Your USPS.com Account" ... Right? IS that what YOU or ANYONE gets?

And when I create an account as a merchant would and start searching for "online shipping tools" with "recommended results" to:

Tutorial: 4 Shipping and Mailing Tools on the Business Customer Gateway
Adapt Your Logistics Process for Consumer Personalization

... and "1 result found for ‘Online shipping Tools’": Preparing Your In-Store Staff for Ship-from-Store Fulfillment

... and NOTHING! from ALL 4 LINKS! ... so I click the learn more button for "Transform Your Business with Ship From Store"

... and I get MORE marketing advice from a federal institution that has operated in its own self-made bubble for decades, BUT NOTHING about the online tools I'm looking for.

And when I search USPS.com for "USPS online rates"? ... "fugetabotit"! ... more marketing advice and NO TOOLS or REGISTRATION pages.

So while I've been an ECT Loyalist for over 15 years precisely BECAUSE OF your GREAT SUPPORT, I welcome ANYONE to verify or correct what I did NOT do in the steps above because I still can't get to registration form for "USPS online rates"!

They MUST HAVE been messing with their redirects, because for the last 24 hours that link has redirected me to https://reg.usps.com/register ... in fact, the link provide below - https://reg.usps.com/register - STILL redirects to USPS.com Account Creation

AARRRGGGHHH ... Sorry for venting on here, but it's been frustrating! ;-)

The registration link in the cart admin for "Register with USPS" resolves to https://reg.usps.com/register ... you might want to change that to https://registration.shippingapis.com/ and head off further posts on this issue ...
