Hi

I'm suddenly seeing this error on my store, not made any changes lately. The full message is:

Warning: Unknown: using touch command with binary protocol is not recommended with libmemcached versions below 1.0.18, please use ascii protocol or upgrade libmemcached in Unknown on line 0

(I do have a touch screen, not sure if this is what it refers to or not!)

It appears on the admin login screen.
I can log in but then it also appears at other places in the admin.

Tried updaters to latest version, but not fixed it. Running PHP7

Any ideas please?
Thanks
Ellen

Hi,
I've seen this once before recently when one of my clients updated their server PHP version to 7.0
Can you show your host that message? It should be resolved by updating to a newer base version of libmemcached.

Hi Ellen

I haven't seen that before and don't have a touch screen myself but looking around it may be that the version of libMemcached needs updating and I assume that would be something your host should do now you are on PHP7. I think it would be worth contacting them to see what they say.

Hi Andy and Phil,

Thanks I will contact the hosts about it. The PHP version has been at 7 for a while, so it's odd that the error would suddenly appear.
Will post back what they say.

If there's any problem, do you think it would be OK to move to say PHP6?

Thanks
Ellen

You don't really want to be going down to 5.6 which is the next earlier version, let's see what the host says.

Update... I got in touch with the host and they said php.ini file was missing (I have never added one before) however when they added it, the problem seemed to be solved and the error message no longer shows
