Hi,

Royal Mail now have a service called Click and Drop.

I'm using this for Amazon orders as it links to that account and automatically transfers shipping/product/tracking information between the systems. It enables the purchase and printing of Royal Mail postage and it works really well and importantly, saves a lot of time. I see it also currently works with various other systems too.

It has a csv option which I have working for ECT purchases but it would be so much easier if it could integrate with Royal Mail as above.

Any chance of taking a look to see if it might be possible to get it working with ECT?

Thanks,

Steve

I use Royal Mail Click and Drop too and integration would be a big help.

There is a dropbox integration with Click and Drop that makes it even easier... https://help.parcel.royalmail.com/hc/en-gb/sections/115000374573-Dropbox

I simply modified the "do_order_success" function in the incemail.php file to create an OrderCSV file and save it to the Dropbox folder where it is automatically picked up and imported into Click and Drop. There is also an option in Click and Drop to automatically generate the shipping label and save it to the dropbox folder.

The do_order_success also runs a "print order" shell script which automatically generates a pdf invoice and packing slip which are sent to the printers and waits for the pdf shipping label to arrive and then sends it to the print queue for the thermal printer. The manual alternative to this is simply not possible when volumes increase not to mention all the mistakes and the waste of resources that occur.

The lack of Shipping label integration is the most likely reason people will move to a new platform when their business grows and if we had not done our own integration then we would have absolutely HAD to move to a different platform!

It is just so very nice letting the printers rattle away as orders come in. Now trying figure out how a robot can lift the packing lists and labels from the printers into the packing trays and pick things from inventory.

Thanks for sharing this John - a very neat way to make this work.

Since I posted this though, I've actually setup Shipstation with an add-on to import data from my ect sites. It works really well, simply importing orders and posting back the tracking number and order status once the labels are printed.

This is saving me a lot of time, but I agree that it would be nice to have this already integated with the cart.
