I sell only downloads. I uploaded the latest digidownloads script. I updated both the main program and the download script.

Thought I followed instructions, but obviously did something wrong. Download option does not show up in Control Panel - I can't add a download option to products. I looked at other posts and including the relevant part of the 'includes' file seems to be important so here is what i have:

// Downloads
$GLOBALS['digidownloads']=TRUE;
$GLOBALS['digidownloadpattern']="\downloads\%pid%.pdf";

I am curious though. In other posts I saw that $GLOBALS was needed in Wordpress scripts. I use DW. Could this be the wrong script? The $GLOBALS precedes all intries in my includes file.

I tried putting the downloads directives into file as stated in help files - without $GLOBALS - but it made no difference at all.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Mike

If the download field isn't showing it may be you didn't run updatestore.php from the digital downloads download.

It shouldn't mater if you use

$digidownloads=TRUE;

or

$GLOBALS['digidownloads']=TRUE;

Andy,

My fault for not being clear. Yes, I did run updatestore.php from the unpacked digital downloads updater. Prior to that, ran updatestore.php from the main program updater. V 7.0.3. Store updated fine. Deleted updatatestore.php, then uploaded files from digidownloads package and uploaded and ran updatestore.php from digitaldownloads file.

But, went back after your email, made sure i had uploaded all the files in the downloads package. Double-checked. Files were in directory with date of yesterday, but re-uploaded them. Than ran updatestore again. Voila! Updates work now. Maybe it was magic or maybe it had something to do with my the files not being the same. Regardless, thanks to you, it is working now. I know a poor workman blames his tools, but changed FTP program. Had had some issues with DirectFTP in other instances, so used WinSCP. Thanks.

It seems browsers can be much stronger on caching these days so after making any changes it's a good idea to force a refresh, Ctrl+Refresh - glad it's working now.
