Hi,
My store email has stopped sending, possibly linked to recent move to https.
I am trying to use php mailer, port : 567, SSL
my error file shows:-
File does not exist: /home/pfactory/public_html/vsadmin/ectadmincustom.css, referer: https://thepewterfactory.com/vsadmin/adminorders.php?id=526

Hi Martin That's the custom admin css file so won't have any bearing here. In the admin are you using the PHPmailer settings, who are you hosting with so we can see if we have details for them? Andy Please feel free to review / rate our software

Looking at other users the port is 587 but it might be worth double checking that withe the host too. I should have been clearer too in my earlier reply - are you entering the phpmailer details via the admin rather than via includes.php as you should be doing the former, I guess you are but just checking. Hi Andy,
I have changed the port to 587 but it doesn't seem to have helped.
I have also tried using the actual server name rather than mail.thepewterfactory.com.
I am entering php mailer details in the admin, main settings
This was all working fine but the last test was before changing to https so i am assuming this is connected to the problem
Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin
Just a thought but have you entered the full https: in BOTH the store admin URL's?

Hi Andy,
If i change to TLS I cannot resend the emails, the email pop up does not function, only using SSL

Maybe the best thing is to contact the host and say you need the values for the following SMTP Username: SMTP Password: SMTP Host: SMTP Port: SMTP Secure: TLS or SSL? Maybe with this trial and error we're changing stuff that is correct. Andy Please feel free to review / rate our software

ok, problem solved.
There were 2 problems, one self inflicted... which was a password update... The other was the port number which with Hostgator seems to be 465
Apologies for the memory failure & I hope the Hostgator port is useful to be listed
