Hi,

I have really messed up & I have broken my checkout. :(

I set up a new PayPal business account and also a PayPal Manager account.

I am so confused on what I need to do to set up for the payment providers.

I set up PayPal Payments Advanced?? - and I keep getting We are experiencing temporary difficulties at the moment. (I changed the includes multipurchase to allow for testing & there is no IP block.)

The email says "you're approved for PayPal Payments Pro" so what should I set up if Advanced doesn't work? I tried PayPal Direct, same message.

I re-set up PayPal Express and used the PayPal api's info. I didn't see a way to access that under the PayPal Manager site (and when I try to erase it & just use the PayPal address, it won't save & keeps adding the api info like I never erased it). I thought PayPal Payments Pro was for both but it is so confusing.

I am also not understanding how to test using PayPal developer? It shows I have 2 Sandbox accounts. If I click Sandbox & use one of the Sandbox email/passwords I am getting "temp difficulties" message or "there seems to be a problem - cancel/return", so can't seem to do any testing at this point.

I'm going to go shed some tears now.... :( My main site is broke...

Hi Julie

Can you check in the admin IP blocking page that you haven't blocked yourself there and that you have definitely removed any mention of IP blocking from includes.asp.

Then in an ideal world do you want to set up PayPal Advanced or Pro - personally I would advise the latter as I'm not sure now long PayPal are going to continue supporting Advanced, it's one they don't market much any more apparently.

Hi Andy,

I deleted all the blocked IP's that I had in there... now at least I am getting the checkout buttons. :)

I still can't seem to test using the Sandbox.

I'll put through a real test order and report.

Nope, this is not working...

"User authentication failed" when trying to check out w/a credit card.

Is this using PayPal Pro or Advanced?

"in an ideal world do you want to set up PayPal Advanced or Pro - personally I would advise the latter"

The only Pro I have listed is PayPal Payflow Pro, that seems to be for sites not on https? I coudn't get it to work.

I went back to the PayPal Direct Payments - and was able to get a live order to go through. So that works...The payment shows in the new PayPal account under Activity.

Now I just hope the PayPal check out works again... I have a .01 cent item set up w/no shipping. Would you test that using PayPal for me? I have it set to authorize. not sale, so it won't charge you. Item is TESTITEM

Sorry, it's PayPal's naming conventions, I did actually mean PayPal Direct Payments it used to be called Paypal Pro.
