OK, taking the easy way out here. After looking at the alternate id information for product options, I'm not sure it will do what I need to do.


I have products that are sold under two different product IDs, one without an option, the other with the option (this seems the opposite of what the alternate id addresses). This is a forced situation due to the way I advertise and the landing pages involved. I'm trying to fix the inventory problem this creates. Is there a way to use a product id as an option, and is this what the alternate id is all about?

I would say that is exactly what the alt prod Id feature does. You can set the product Id on the option and set it up as a hidden product.
