Here is one that has me out of ideas. Customers can fill all text fields on review page but for some reason the reviews are not saved. There is no confirmation page, and no error message unless the customer does not include a min of 10 characters in the review. It had been working, but just stopped. I have checked the includes file and here is what I have:

$enablecustomerratings=TRUE;
$detailreviewstarstext=' ';
$reviewcommentsminlength=10;

Nothing else related to reviews. The review feature had been working, but as I said it just stopped. I am wondering if it is a database issue not directly related to the software, but I just have run out of ideas and any suggestions would be great.

I can manually add a review via the admin page, no problem there. I have tried to leave a review myself and can confirm it just doesn not work.

Hi Ken

I see your product detail pages have a .htm extension so assume you have some sort of rewrite going on there. That may well be why the reviews aren't saving but are through the admin.

Wouldn't it be better to use extensionless URLs https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/seo/search-engine-friendly-urls-php.asp

Thanks for the lead Andy. I believe this may have come about from a rewrite to make all pages, store and non store, https. I'll check into it further, thanks again.

I was able to get this fixed, you did push me in the right direction. The problem was an old .htaccess entry I had made about eight years ago to change all .php pages to .htm for some reason I don't even remember.

But as I said, fixed and done, and all working like a charm!
