We have certain products where there are color customizations, but we do not have images for each and every option/combination. We use Thumbdor to process images on the fly and it would be nice to be able to be able to specify certain image filters for the cart page... The main example I have in mind is being to utilizing a greyscale filter so that the customer doesnt see the red t-shirt in their cart when they selected blue. If it was greyscale, then that would at least be an improvement. I understand how to use the alt prodID feature for something like this, but our products can get quite complicated and would rather not use that method.

Seems like it wouldnt be super complicated to just add another image field. Or at least have it be an option and the cart image default to the small image as it currently does..

Hi Chris
For the greyscale filter couldn't you do something like this?

img.cartimage {
-webkit-filter: grayscale(100%); /* Safari 6.0 - 9.0 */
filter: grayscale(100%);
}

The could possibly work for one stage of the cart. That image does also carry into ShipStation and subsequently to customer shipping emails, where we don't always have control over the CSS. Just something for the wishlist. I can imagine some other use cases where a feature like this could be beneficial, but I understand that you need to pick features that are the most useful to the largest number of people.
