Just updated to 7.1.8. and now I have 'Instock :2' when I don't want it.

Having already switched the option off previously why has it come back please???

How do I remove it???

https://www.dippennibs.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=MarsEraser52650BK

You can see it at the top under the name of the product - Instock 6 in this example.

I've removed the 'instock' from the $detailpagelayout= on the incprodetail page.

It's fixed until the next update

I've checked my old incprodetail page (before I updated from 7.0.?) and it was the 'instock' is there on that one - so it seems odd that I had to make the change to fix it now??

I assume there is another better way to stop it happening again on the next update?

I tried adding the $detailpagelayout= line to the includes.php but it makes no difference???

Hi Trace
Adding the $detailpagelayout to the includes.php file without the instock parameter really does seem to be the way to sort this out as it sounds like it is taking the default. Can you try again and make sure the modified includes.php makes it up to the right place etc.

Hi Vince,

Thank you, I tried it and no it still didn't work.

I was trying to get my head round why it wasn't working like you said it should and ......... I realised its because I do not have $usecsslayout=TRUE; so my site is not using the css based layout as when I switch that on it does work. BUT my layout goes all over the place and my css skills are not up to rearranging the site (cat pages and proddetail pages) to make it look like it does now.

So unless you or anyone can give me the css required to convert to css and keep the site looking the same I dont think I have any choice.

I presume you don't have another work around for me -now knowing its not using css, do you???

Hi Trace
Ok, I understand now and it is because you are using the non-CSS layout. In that case you can hide this with the following CSS...

div.detailinstock{
display:none;
}

There is also...

div.prodinstock{
display:none;
}

It would be a really good idea to change to the CSS layout if you can. If you set a test site up in a sub-folder for instance we could help with any problems but to be honest, setting the CSS for a site that wasn't designed for it would be difficult. We do have some pretty good deals for replacement software however if for instance, you wanted to change to a Responsive Design...
