Hey All,

Just noticed an issue when a customer tries to create a login profile while entering their "State".

The "State" defaults to "Alabama" every time and is then shown as "Undefined".

I created one myself with a known "Oregon" address and it defaults to "Alabama".

When an order comes through it shows the State as "Undefined".

Hi Patrick
I just tried this and it seemed to be ok. But where are you creating the new address? Is this in the customer details part of checkout?

Hi Patrick
I think I've found the problem in the clientlogin page. Can you get a new copy of the updater and copy the file...
vsadmin/inc/incclientlogin.php
...to your site and hopefully that should cure this.

It's after a customer has created a login profile... email address and password.

Then they log in and go to Address Management and add their physical address.

It's on the clientlogin.php page.

If they create a profile during checkout it works fine.

Hey Vince,

I applied the updated incclientlogin.php file and now it went from "Undefined" to "44"

I also went to the adminclientlog.php page to correct a prior customers address page and it won't accept the proper State. It still stays as "Undefined"

Hi Patrick
It all seems to be fine here with the change so can you send me the site FTP login to my email (vince AT ecommercetemplates DOT com) and I'll take a look.

Hi Patrick
The FTP login you sent doesn't seem to work but I had a look at the site and there seems to be some kind of address management system installed. Could that have something to do with things? One of the changes in the v7.2 release is that the state is now passed as an ID rather than a state name and maybe this address management system just needs changing to take account of this?

Hi Vince,

I have another site "without" the address verification system and it does the same thing.

Feel free to create a new test login account: https://www(DOT)slixprings.com/clientlogin.php

Then click on "Address Management" and enter a name and address and submit it.

Then go back to verify the address you entered. It will show "undefined" as a State.

If a customer supplies their info in this fashion and then logs in to place an order the State shows "undefined"

If they place an order as normal without creating a login profile the State shows correctly.

Hi Patrick
Sorry about the problems there but this should all be fixed now and both sites updated.

Hi Vince ... it's me again

Running latest PHP v7.2.3.001, there is still a bug related to saving the "State" name.

(1) Login to the Admin Panel and go Orders Admin ... Client Login ... List Results.
(2) Modify any Client Login record and Edit Address.
(3) Notice the "State" field says "Please Select ..."
(4) Open that drop-down, select any State Name and Submit.
(5) Now notice that State Name has not been saved and is displayed as "undefined".

But if you return to:
(1) Orders Admin ... Client Login ... List Results.
(2) Find that same Client Login record and this time click the Login button.
(3) On the front-end website, navigate to "clientlogin.php", and Edit Address.
(4) Notice the "State" field says "Please Select ..."
(5) Open that drop-down, select any State Name and Submit.
(6) Update successful, this time the State Name was saved; all good.

Hi Gary
Thanks for the detailed steps and I think I've found the bug and I've sent you a copy of the updater if you would be so kind as to try your test with it before I release the changes.

Vince
