I am going from PayPal Standard to PayPal Pro ... I am getting this message: This transaction cannot be processed. The merchant's account is not able to process transactions.
Where did I go wrong ?

You must have a business account with Paypal, do you?

That messages typically indicates that Paypal is not allowing the transactions to process.
Have you spoken to them?
