We have a sold out product. I need to edit orders to add this product to those who ordered but couldn't pay due to a PayPal glitch. The message we get is that there is not enough inventory to add it to the order. But if I add inventory, others will buy it and we have guaranteed the people who purchased, that they will have first choice. It seems like the cart won't let me do what I need to do, but is there a workaround?

If you uncheck Display Product & you have inventory available then that should allow you to add that inventory to orders whilst at the same time the product isn't available to customers for purchase. Once you have amended the orders just nip back in to the admin and check Display Product again.

Brilliant. Thanks Steve. It works. PayPal caused us a huge problem today and we're trying to keep everyone happy. Not an easy job.

Another question as I've never done it. If we edit the order and add a product, what's the best way to get the balance paid? We can resend the email so they have confirmation but how do we get paid?

If so, send the customer an email with the extra amount along with a link to your payment page, works a charm on the sites I manage
