I would be great to have a feature where customers can ask to be notified when we get more of "low stock" items and not just "out of stock" items.
Ideally we could set a threshold for this to appear or it could follow the same parameter setting we currently have set to show low stock products.

Hi Mike, it looks like that notifies the admin when a product is low. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm looking for something for website visitors to be able to ask to be notified when a product is restocked, that is not completely out of stock.
so this feature
doesn't only show for out of stock items, but low stock as well.

You are correct. This is ONLY for admin. Not for customers.

I'll piggyback on this and request a customer notification for when items that are available on back order are now in stock again.

Just a 2nd button under the add to cart button would work wonders for me. Something like:

[Backorder / Add to Cart] <--- which I currently have
[Email when back in stock] <--- add this 2nd button for people not wanting to pay for a backorder

I get so many requests for "can you please let me know when it's back in stock" for an item that is currently on backorder.

Dave is the notification threshold a global setting or a individual setting that can be done for each item?

Hi Steven, it's global.

However, with some custom coding and adding a column to the products table, you could use the admin quick entry to set it on a per product basis.
