PayPal sent us this email:

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:
https://bgffa.fwffb.net/vsadmin/ppconfirm.asp

When viewing orders some show an Auth Code and some show "no ipn". Also the total at the bottom is $0.00, this usually shows a total amount. A screen shot is at https://bgffa.fwffb.net/working/PayPal-IPN.jpg

Sorry it took me a while to get to your emails but I've had quite a few issues to deal with today. But by the looks of things, the email system is working on your server but if the IPN isn't getting through then that would be why the order notification email doesn't arrive. But it seems you are using PayPal Standard and that's been replaced now by PayPal Checkout. If you go to the store admin -> Payment Providers page you'll see the sigup wizard for PayPal Checkout and it really does just take a couple of clicks to link the store to your PayPal account. Could you try that?

In the payment options trying to set up PayPal Checkout it asks for:
User ID:
Password:
Merchant ID:

The terminology doesn't match.

Where do I find the correct info in PayPal?

On the first page of the ECT Admin -> Payment Providers page there is a wizard saying "Get Started". Just click on that so link the account. You don't need to enter anything as all the settings will be filled automatically.

One small issue. With the new payment gateway customers have the option of paying with PayPal or a credit card. When choosing PayPal there's a data field that doesn't show, extraorderfield2

In this screen shot, https://bgffa.fwffb.net/working/missingdatafield.jpg on the left is PayPal, the right credit card. The PayPal screen is missing the extraorderfield2 datafield "Sales person to receive credit". How do I get it to show there?

This I presume is when paying with the PayPal Express payment flow, no?
The extra checkout fields are implemented with PayPal Express but not the extra order fields (as the customer details come from the PayPal account.) But in this case it really does sound like the "Sales person to receive credit" would be better as an extra checkout field anyway. Is it possible you could change these to extra checkout fields instead? For that you would use...
