We are using weight-based shipping and ship from the UK to most European Union countries and also a few others, such as the US and Canada, Australia and New Zealand. The problem is, most of the countries either have different shipping charges or freight surcharges, so I have used up all 24 rows on the Postal Zones page.

If a new customer comes in from a different country, such as one recently from Taiwan, then I had to re-use one of the existing zones (sorry, Slovakia). Most of the other pages will automagically increase the number of rows if you get to the bottom. Is this possible?

There is a message on the Zones page that says:-

"Your admin settings are set to treat your States as one shipping zone. To split your States into separate shipping zones please click here."

I don't know what that does, so I haven't dared to click there.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Stephen,

I'm sure Vince will offer a solution for this issue but I just thought I'd let you know this is the ASP section.

The PHP section is here - https://www.ecommercetemplates.com/support/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=4

quote:
"Your admin settings are set to treat your States as one shipping zone. To split your States into separate shipping zones please click here."

I don't know what that does, so I haven't dared to click there.

This allows you to set different shipping rates to all the UK counties

Hi Phil,

Sorry, this is David, posting on Stephen's behalf. I got the wrong forum. Do I need to re-post?

Thanks,

David

Hi David,
I replied to your email on the 23rd December but not heard from you. Just checking to see if you received it.

Hi David
Sorry for the late reply but I think I already replied to Stephen by email and he already had the idea that if you just add more lines to the database, "postalzones" table they will appear in the admin from then on.

Hi Vince/All,
Yes, I added more rows and the Admin picks them up fine. For anyone else that has this issue, you have to explicitly set the zone number in each row, in our case from 25 through to 34 for an extra 10 zones. The numbers 100+ are reserved for states within the USA so you have to fit all required zones in the 1-99 range, maximum.
I also set 'Temp1'...'Temp10' to give them names while I was at it. They all show as you'd expect in the Admin thereafter.
Simples!
Thanks,
Steve.
