Hi

I have recently set up my DMARC on my Office 365 email. However it is putting my store emails (when I get a sale) into my quarantine folder because my store emails and my email have the same domain address. I have contacted my IT support and they have told me to contact you and ask the following,

"You will need to ask on the ecommerce forum about what needs adding to your SPF record so that DMARC doesn't mark them as dodgy"

Can you please advise what I need to add to my spf record?

Thank you. Claire.

Hi Claire
I'm not really sure but is this your host suggesting that you ask here? I think they are passing the buck a bit to tell the truth and I would say this was more a hosting issue.

Hi Vince,

My husband works in IT and has helped me set up DMARC. He has asked me to post this information for you to understand where the issue lies. The SPF record on the domain requires you to specify all IP addresses that will send emails on behalf of the domain in the syntax on the DNS record, otherwise DMARC will report this as a fail to my email provider (Office 365). At present, my SPF record for my domain is set to: v=spf1 include:spf.protection.outlook.com -all

I now need to add an entry to this SPF record to allow the ecommerce shop to send emails on behalf of my domain (so that when the recipient gets these it shows as from my domain) and to pass the DMARC security, otherwise these are being flagged by Microsoft (and potentially other email providers) as dodgy and are being placed into quarantine.

Can you advise what this should be so I can fix the issue?

:::EDIT:::
Hi Claire, I'm pretty sure that would be the "hostname" of your site...
Your host should be able to provide that.

I did look up mine (set automatically when my dns was created for my hosting package)
TXT v=spf1 +a +mx +a:35-175-119-51.plesk.page -all
with the red there being my sites Hostname

I have had great success in troubleshooting email issues with this site

Thanks,
David
