Installed the Google XML Sitemap Generator and submitted to Google in the evening. The day after it was accepted.

Thanks for the great add-on Mike!

I just incorporated this addon into my site along with the google to yahoo sitemap and it's GREAT!. I've bought 5 of his products so far and everyone of them has been extremely easy to install and works as promised. This is much better than the free one I was using that limited me to 750 urls, and it includes all my products.

Mike, I purchased your "google xml sitemap" back in March of this year. What is different about your new one? Can you please explain.
Thanks
Al

I have just downloaded and installed Mike's Google XML Sitemap. The directions were great, and it couldn't have been easier.

Mike's quick response to my question was much appreciated!

I couldn't be more pleased!

Excellent. I bought this addon a few hours ago and had it working on two sites and succesfully submitted to Google within the hour. I made a minor mistake when I misread part of the instructions but Mike put me right very quickly by email!

Looks like the Sitemap Generator is a necessary tool, but I am a bit confused how it is to be used in conjunction with Google Analytics, or other recommended site trackers like www.statcounter.com or www.stuffedtracker.com. Looks like I need both, is that true?

This Addon is does not track your site stats. It is purely for efficiently submitting your site pages to the Google index. Yes you will still need a means of tracking separately.

Thank you. Have you found that it is best to match Google Analytics with your sitemap tool? Or does it really matter?

It does not really matter, but a Google Analytics account is free, so if your host does not offer a good tracking software then go for it.

Looking at this mod further, is it necessary to set up the sitemap to include all product pages? For example, on our site we have several hundred pages set up as categories so their page link looks like http://www.integratedbusinessworks.com/products.php?cat=90. Doesn't seem to make sense to have those indexed, does it?

To make a long story short Google XML Sitemaps are more for Google than they are for your site. Yes it does make sense. It reduces the need for the webbot to spider manually through your pages, as the sitemap tells it which pages you want to be included.

just my 2 cents,

i'm no web expert but this add on was easy enough to install, at first the code looks a little daunting, but if you just follow mikes instructions (that come with the mod) its installed very quickly indeed.

thanks mike,

James

I'm just ploughing through the whole goole optimisation thing and have purchased Mike's google XML stemap generator. It was easy to use and I managed to upload the sitemap within 1/2 an hour.
The Tips page on Mike's site is also very good
http://www.dlss.ca/tips.asp

Mike also mailed the sitemap generator on a Sunday which I wasn't expecting!
