Hi Mike,

Just wondering if there is a new PHP update for PHP V5.5.1?

Thanks for the update Mike. I was looking at the URLs that gets submitted and noticed that it is submitting them as:

http://www.cellulardr.com/proddetail.php?prod=ASY-11502-010

which is how the cart originally was setup, but I have the SEO mod from ectmodules and all my product detail pages are changed to look like this:

http://www.cellulardr.com/ASY-11502-010.htm

So I was wondering is there a way to make this change in the sitemap also?

Thanks

Incredibly easy to install. Verified quickly through google.

Saved me a great deal of time.

Thanks Mike.

Hi Mike,
The Sitemap generator works fine. I like the VERY clear instruction which make the very inexperience user like me can still DIY.. :)

However, here i got something can't solve by ourselves and willing to pay $$ to solve the problem, check it out if you are interested.

sonjia,

would you believe after 2.5 years of agreeing to the standard protocol they still do not have a front door to submit. There is a back door. Use this syntax to submit it.

http://api.moreover.com/ping?u=http://yourdomain.com/yoursitemap.xml

Also MSN suggest on their blog that you add a reference to your Sitemap into your robots.txt file (supported by sitemaps.org). For example:

User-agent: *
Sitemap: http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
Disallow: /cgi-bin/

This would tell MSN (and all other engines) to crawl your sitemap file but not to crawl your cgi-bin directory.

Hi Mike,
so I can also use the sitemap.xml that generated by your add-on MOD to Microsoft & Yahoo?
and just to clarify, the robots.txt file only contain below three lines, right?
===== robots.txt ========================
user-agent: *
Sitemap: http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml
Disallow: /cgi-bin/
=====================================
thanks.

Yes, you can add those lines, but they do not have to be the only three lines in that file.

Also you can submit stright to Yahoo and ASK.com through thier front door webmaster submissions.

Submit sitemap to Yahoo

Yahoo follows a similar approach to Google. Again, there is a dedicated sevice for webmasters (Yahoo! Site Explorer) and a procedure for verifying your ownsership of the site. First go to:

http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/

Add a site, then click on the verification button. You can then download a verfication key html file - which you will need to upload to the root directory of your webserver. Then you can return to Site Explorer and tell Yahoo to start authentication. This will take up to 24 hours. At the same time you can also add your sitemap by clicking on the manage button and then adding the sitemap as a feed.

Submit sitemap to Ask

To submit you sitemap, you simply enter a ping URL, followed by the full URL of where your sitemap is located:

http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

After clicking return, you will get a message from Ask that they have received your submission

Hi Mike, URGENT!!

I sent sitemap to Google for over 24 hours, it is still in "pending" status, and I also find it never start to crawl my site. In addition, it also show some very strange information.
(a) The PageRank of your pages in Google - low - Not yet assigned
(b) Your page with teh highest PageRank
September - http://www.painting4u.com/buy/ferrule/real/estate/ferrule.thm
(we never have this directory and files and our site just up recently)
I will send the screen-shot to your email address via separate mail.
Please advise, thanks.

I sent you an email.

Any activity recorded there is in Google's history and I can not explain how that page existed. Perhaps an old page or the domain was previously used.

It can on occasion take a few days to have your sitemap read by Google.

I just bought this mod and am wondering how to make it work with a multi-language site. I have 3 languages on the site and each language database info is located in a separate subdirectory eg: /en/ , /de/ , /nl/

is there a way to get it to index all the languages?

Is this mod able to take into account the category name so it prints...

products.php?cat=Advertising+Equipment

and NOT

products.php?cat=1

So I wont get duplicate pages.
