WOW! It took about 30 minutes from when I recieved the program to Google accepting the XML sitemap w/ over 150 page links! Great documentation and communication too!

Hi Mike...a question about setting this up...

There's a section in the instructions:

Place the static page names in double quotes as if from the root of the website in place of sURL ex "policies.asp"

You say "as if from the root"...just want to confirm if a file is in a folder, do I NOT include the folder? For example, I have my-folder/my-file.php. In googlesitemap.php do I insert it only as "my-file.php"? or "my-folder/my-file.php"?

Just have to say how impressed I am with all of Mike's mods, and even more, his support.

I submitted this and it got accepted by Google in under 10 minutes (the second time - the first time I got an error after 10 minutes cause I forgot to upload my new google sitemap ).

Very easy to use and it put all my dynamic links on there...

How necessary is it that all products have manufacturers listed?

Google will not accept a feed without all of your products using one. So 100% need to be assigned. If you do not have anything to list as one, set it as your company or site name.

Hmmmm... I wonder if we're talking about the wrong mod, then. Yesterday you sent me the Google Base Lister (instead of the updated XML Sitemap), this is the Google XML Sitemap thread.

I'm reading the instructions for the Google Base. These aren't merged products, are they?

Nope... That may also explain my response, I didn't even realise this was the Sitemap thread. The manufacturer is not required or used in the Google Sitemap...

I purchased this mod about 3 weeks ago and it took no time at all to get it to work. It saved me about 3 hours worth of work. I had one question for Mike and he replied in about 10 minutes.

By the way, Google has already picked up about 95% of the pages submitted. This mod is invaluable!

Can anyone help me modify this mod. I did purchase it before and it was modified for me by Mike Beebe, however due to a PC crash I lost the file and purchased it again. This time Mr Beebe is unable to help me get it to work.

My site was custom built and does not use proddetail. Just products. So the sitemap generator creates, for example:

proddetail.php?prod=119182

Which points to nowhere, whereas I need the sitemap to generate in the format:

products.php?cat=455&nav=15

(also seems to work if I drop the nav and use use "products.php?cat=455")

I can see the "proddetail" reference in the code, which I assume I would simple change to "products" but I don't know how and where to change the code from "prod=" to "cat="

Can anyone help?

I'm getting this message from google about my site under the sitemaps.

- URLs not followed
When we tested a sample of the URLs from your Sitemap, we found that some URLs were not accessible to Googlebot because they contained too many redirects. Please change the URLs in your Sitemap that redirect and replace them with the destination URL (the redirect target). All valid URLs will still be submitted.

It then gives me the url:http://www.philsplaythings.com/charmeuse_babydoll.php

This url redirects to http://www.philsplaythings.com/charmeuse-babydoll.php

I noticed in the sitemap addon all my static urls ar listed with "_" instead of "-"

How can I fix this.

Having come from the world of osCommerce and ZenCart, I was a little bit skeptical about buying a script to add functionality to my cart, but knew I needed a good sitemap.

I read the reviews here and decided to buy from Mike.

Boy am I glad that I did!

I received the product quickly, installed it (after reading the very straight-forward directions), and a couple of minutes later, voila!

I now have added this new xml sitemap linked into the footer of my site, which should speed the bot-crawls significantly.

For anyone out there wondering about who to do business with, I can definitely recommend Mike @ dlss.ca as being a top notch supplier of enhancements for ECT sites.

Phil the character you are getting is comming from the ECT cart as I use the built in funstion in incfunctions for the static pages. The sitemap does not do any of that name formatting of static pages.

There is a parameter to change that character in ECT

I have that set in ECT to use "-" instead of "_" but it still shows up with _ instead of -
