When on a sub category page the breadcrumb menu option to go back to the category page the sub category belongs to doesn't work (clicking on a different category works fine). It's the same on the detail page (ie can't get back to the category page the detail page belongs to via the bread crumb category menu)

To put it another way .... on this page ( http://www.test.karlrobinson.co.uk/ladies_purses_square_draw_string_purse.php?cat=2 ) clicking on "Ladies Purses" in the bread crumb menu does nothing. And on this detail page ( http://www.test.karlrobinson.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=3233 ) "Ladies Purses" does nothing.

How can the parent category page be loaded from the sub category and detail pages breadcrumb menu?

Hi

I don't think you can select the parent category there as there would be no trigger. The user would have to go to All Categories and then select.

It seems quite a strange menu behavior as it's what the user would expect to be able to do give that the option is there. Is this something that could be fixed?

I've noticed that on the demo stores it's possible to return to parent category page from the product page and detail pages via the bread crumb trail - effectively an alternative back button. Is the problem a result of having drop down menus enabled for the bread crumb?

Yes, because as Andy mentions, there is no "trigger".
Nothing is being changed on the page to "trigger" the code to take steps.

Ok. So the question now is can changes be made so it behaves correctly - either now or in future updates?
